Better late than never, I say! Had a fun week in terms of attire. Wore some items I haven’t worn in ages!

Today’s dress is probably one of my favorite dresses – a gown covered in ballerinas that I managed to find at an amazing price just because a few seams needed to be sewn back together! Sadly, the bust is extremely tight on me, and the waist much too large, but I knew I had to have this piece no matter size issues given the print. I’m a sucker for anything with a ballerina print!

Thursday’s look is perhaps the most authentically 1950s look overall. Funnily enough, this shirt is from the 1990s, but I knew with the help of a bullet bra, it would give me that perfect silhouette over a sweeping skirt that I so love, so I hesitated only a moment before making the $8 purchase – and I’m so glad I made it! Although I’d love to be able to afford all 1930s-1960s true vintage, I find that one can mix and match pieces from different eras as long as the prints, material and cut match the era you wish to emulate.
Also decided to don one of two Harry Potter brooches I own as I’ve been re-watching the series again as I often do when desperate for distraction. Sadly, Hedwig rarely gets worn as her design wasn’t very well thought through and she falls sideways pretty immediately.

This look is a reiteration of one I wore earlier this year in the winter time when I discovered my strong love for full outfits of matching red! Just has such a great feel to it – I love the effect.

I chose Saturday’s look knowing I’d be going out for a big steak dinner later in the day. My Vivien of Holloway capris fit me perfectly while remaining stretchy enough to accommodate a growing waistline ;). I ended up matching the restaurant with my gingham top, so it ended up being the perfect outfit for the outing.

This look was born out of a need to wear a large hat to hide my falling wet set, and the fact that I knew I wouldn’t be spending much time in the sun or much time moving my arms around. This pair of jumpsuit culottes is one of the coolest vintage finds in my wardrobe. Although the gal I bought it from and myself have a suspicion it’s a 1970s-1980s outfit, I love that it emulates a 1930s nautical look – and I’m generally not huge on nautical-inspired items. Sadly, this is another number that’s far too tight in the bust, (though this one fits my waist beautifully!) and it’s a bit too heavy for hotter Tucson weather while being impossible to layer over for colder periods, so it rarely gets worn.
